Private William Bleshley

The background of this man is not known at present, other than that he was born around 1895 in Belfast. It is possible that his name was in fact Bleakley or Blackley.

Bleshley enlisted in the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons Service Squadron at Belfast on 14 May 1917 (No.UD/326). He was described as being 5' 6" tall, with a sallow complexion, fair hair and blue eyes. Tattooed on his left arm were a horseshoe, roses, and 'good luck'. He gave his occupation as a labourer.

On 27 August 1917 Bleshley deserted from Enniskillen. It is not known if he was ever apprehended.
